Home / About
Born in Sacramento, California, I grew up throughout the U.S. (California, Oregon, Idaho, Pennsylvania). And as soon as I could I jetted off to college to study Business & Marketing.  Immediately after graduating I went to work with a PR firm, but attempting to convince journalists to write about CRM software wasn’t my passion. After a year of learning great PR basics I transitioned into the non-profit world. I started by helping a young organization start-up in D.C. and then began traveling internationally for various humanitarian projects.
In 2002 I landed in South Africa with the plan to work with a community based organization for one year, but after falling in love with South Africa and a South African I stayed for six. In that time I carried on expanding skills in marketing, project management, and patience (working in a developing context one has no other choice!) for various organizations. I completed a Master’s degree in Development Studies, and co-founded Reform Development Consulting, an applied development research organization. During this time I began publishing both academic and travel articles and began actively building up my photography portfolio and clientele.
We relocated to Boulder, Colorado in 2012, and I found a place to hone my digital marketing chops with the SVOD company, Gaiam TV. My life ultimately changed with the arrival of our first born in April 2014, and I began to reevaluate the way I spend my time. In 2015 I moved out on my own to solely focus on supporting companies and individuals in the areas of marketing, copywriting and photography.

With over 13 years in marketing, I am passionate about contributing and guiding strategy and execution of projects and brilliant ideas to support the growth and profitability of socially conscious businesses, non-profits and individuals. I’ve worked around the world and with all sizes and complexities of organizations. With every project, I bring my strengths in business strategy, marketing design, and leadership and help guide domestic and international organizations to reach and surpass goals.

Aside from my passion for growing business and supporting great ideas, I spend my time photographing nature, families, my adventures, and anything else that inspires me (especially my toddler!). Having lived all over the world, I have a love of story telling, and find a creative outlet in blogging, travel writing, and I have contributed my past international development research to academic publications.
